From “I guess I’ll…” to “Here’s my plan.”
Students are often asked to make decisions about careers, education, training, and life after high school before they fully understand their options, or the questions they should be asking.
Own Your Plan is an interactive, student-centered workshop that helps students move beyond simply completing planning activities to actually understanding and taking ownership of what comes next.
Students will
- Identify interests, strengths, values, and work preferences
- Compare possible career and postsecondary directions
- Investigate what their destination actually requires
- Connect high school choices to future opportunities
- Recognize barriers, tradeoffs, and questions they still need to answer
- Learn to evaluate education, training, college credit, cost, and value more strategically
- Identify a specific next action they can take

College Planning On Purpose
A College Planning Workshop for Students and Their Families
44 college credits. Only 9 counted toward the degree. All 44 transferred. Most simply didn’t satisfy what the degree required.
Families don’t always know which questions to ask until they know to ask them.
College planning isn’t a checklist that starts senior year. It’s a series of connected decisions that shape a student’s options, opportunities, and costs.

How are you using money, time, credits, and opportunities wisely?
What if families started asking better questions?
Students do the thinking. Parents are part of the conversation. Students and families see how college decisions connect, discover questions they may not have known to ask, and leave with greater clarity and a clear next step.
Best for: family nights, evening events, or school-hosted college planning sessions. About 90 minutes.
Pricing: $40 per student, 30-student minimum. Parents attend with their student at no additional cost.
